Lion Thai

We went on a Saturday for dinner without having a booking. It was very busy inside, the restaurant was almost full and the 2 small tables that were left were reserved. The staff gave us one of those tables. The food was very good. We had chicken green cury and chilli basil seafood stir fry with steamed rice and chicken satay with peanut sauce to share. The penuts sauce was to die four, chicken skewers were a bit dry but very tasty. Both main course dishes were well cooked, beautifully presented, and the portions were generous. I couldn't eat all my food. The steamed rice does not come with the food and needs to be ordered separately. The regular dishes are around $20 / portion. It was a bit more expensive for seafood. The steamed rice is $4.5/person, but the portions were generous. We finished eating and it was rice left. At other thai restaurants i have been lately, the rice is never enough. Both meal with riceand the entre were about $65, that is not expensive for a couple weekend night out. The restaurant is BYO. So bring your wine when you go next time there. I also noticed that they have a kids menu and is not expensive. Kids' meals are just $10/ portion. Lots of thai restaurants don't have kids' menu.. Staff were very attentive. The ice cold water been on our table within a minute from our arrival. They took our order as soon as we decided what to eat and the dishes came out of the kitchen with 15 minutes. Overall, i give the restaurant 5 stars. We'll be back there for sure, and we'll make a booking next time 😊

Love love love! Absolutely recommend. My partner and I started going here on Valentine’s Day, and gave ordered weekly since for date night. We either dine in or get takeaway, and the service is great either way; soo friendly, pleasant and just all round warming. Their food is amazing and so fresh, we always get chicken pad Thai, satay sticks and money bags; and it’s perfect every time! When we get take away it’s just as fresh. Can’t rate this place enough, friendly staff, lovely food, a prompt service (plus very nice phone manner when ordering take-away); you can’t go wrong 🙌🏼 some photos added for the amazing food (also very good portions!). Good bang for your buck!

We enjoyed a wonderful dining experience last night⭐️ Food are great and sure you can see n taste the love the chef put into the dishes. Tom yum soup and Tom kha soup are full of favor👍🏻 Pad Thai and fried rice are not oily and kids love them. Other dishes also is high standard. The service is also a great👍🏻 Thanks for all the reviewers who provided true reviews 👍🏻👍🏻 we are not local ppl but we can eat as local foodies ❤️

I ordered a beef green curry. got a heap of veg and 9 bits of sliced no Shaved beef and a watery green sauce . For the price charged I felt ripped off so I called to complain & I was not offered any excuse I was instead told it’s all set out what ever that means the meal cost no more than $3.00 to make and was a vegetable mess not a beef green curry.

So disappointed tonight. I sent a message to book for four tonight earlier in the week. Rang to bring my 7 pm booking forward slightly and was advised there was no booking. Really didn’t offer a satisfactory response more or less denying that I had made the booking. I have a screenshot on my phone as evidence of the call but management didn’t seem to be in any way understanding. Has Lion THAI got so popular that issues like this don’t rate ? I love the food and we eat there often. So sad my interstate friends missed out on a dining experience that I have been raving about
